Academy Admissions Policy

All Hallows Academy welcomes students regardless of race, color, or ethnic origin. While Catholic students are grantedPlease see our policy at left preference in admissions, qualified students of other faiths may attend our school as space permits. We will also work to accommodate those disabled students capable of achieving a positive educational experience in our academic environment.

A child who is five years of age by September 1 may be admitted into Kindergarten. A child who is six years of age by September 1 may be admitted into the first grade. There are additional admission requirements.

Active members of All Hallows Parish have first preference for admission to the Academy. As part of the application process, the student and parents will be interviewed by the Principal and / or a teacher and a test will be administered to determine the student's academic strengths and weaknesses. For their part, the parents must agree to support actively the spiritual and academic standards of the school. Approval of the application requires concurrence by both the Parish Pastor and the school Principal.

It is school policy to limit class size, if practical, to 30 students in grades K through 4 and 35 students in grades 5 through 8.

New Students

Applications to the Academy must be accompanied by a birth certificate and immunization records.  A child who is five years of age by September 1st may be apply to kindergarten. Developmental screening is also part of the kindergarten admissions process.  Family's seeking admission for grades 1 through 8 should seek an appointment  with the principal at which time the normal application process can begin.

Children transferring from another school must bring report cards from their former school. When warranted, students with academic deficiencies may be admitted on a probationary basis with dates and criteria of evaluation clearly established.

No person shall be admitted as a student unless both they and their parents subscribe to the school's philosophy and agree to abide by the educational policies and regulations of the school and the diocese.

It is a matter of policy that no Catholic student who is a member of All Hallows parish will be denied access to the Academy solely on the basis of inability to pay tuition. Parishioners who can show the need may apply for tuition assistance.

All Hallows Academy retains the right to set local admission standards and policies in addition to those specified here.

Public Health Requirements

Students are required to meet the requirements of the Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (AB2068). This law requires that all children who enter kindergarten and / or first grade present to the school a health certificate signed by a physician. The certificate must show that a child has received a health checkup or screening within one year prior to entry into the school.

California law requires that every child entering school for the first time present evidence that he / she has been protected against polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and measles. In addition, the State Health Department recommends that all children be immunized against rubella and mumps. No child will be admitted without up-to-date immunization records.
