Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Children in grades 1 through 6 participate in Children’s
Liturgy of the Word . They gather with their family and the community at
mass, and, after the Gloria and the opening prayer (and before the first
Scripture Reading) they are called forth, blessed by the celebrant and
formally dismissed. They proceed with their catechist to a place where
they can hear the scripture proclaimed and preached to them on their
level. The children are returned to Mass
with their families before the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins.
