Faith and Good
Works - My
brothers, what good is it to profess faith without practicing it? Such
faith has no power to save one, has it? If a brother or sister has nothing
to wear and no food for the day, and you say to them, "Good-bye and
good luck! Keep warm and well fed," but do not meet their bodily
needs, what good is that? So it is with the faith that does nothing in
practice. It is thoroughly lifeless.
—James 2:14-17
There are numerous
programs that provide parishioners of All Hallows with the opportunity to
"give back" and reach out to those in need.
Shelter Network is an
annual effort that provides shelter for homeless reentering the work
place. San Diego Outreach is a Christmas Outreach to families in need at
the Bayside Settlement House. Tijuana Outreach assists at Casa de los
Pobres and other facilities in Mexico. St. Vincent de Paul Village is a
local Catholic organization that supports the San Diego community.
Prayer for Outreach -
...what return shall I make to God for all God's bounty to me?
(Psalm 116)
Everything that we have while we are here comes as a gift from God.
Because we love God, we gladly dedicate these gifts to God's service.
O God, I
resolve to put you first in my life.
I recognize that you have blessed me
with all that I have and all that I am.
I commit to giving back to You
the first portion of my blessings.
I recognize that being a good steward
is nothing more than being truly Christian.
From my heart, I thank You Lord for blessing me
and I trust in your love.

Outreach, please contact the Minister of Stewardship. |
