Friday of the 5th Week in Lent

A newly retired woman had plenty of time. And she had plenty of fabric! She started tinkering, testing, and sewing. Soon she brought a batch of homemade masks to the local children’s hospital. Since last Lent, sewers around the country have taken up that vocation. The motivation is simple. “It’s like war time, how can I help?” one mask sewer asked, “It’s just good for the soul.”

Father Jerry says in today’s homily video above, “To take whatever we have — no matter how little… To give whatever time you can — no matter how limited… To put aside your own needs and challenges — no matter how great… That is to do the work of Jesus Christ.”
