La Jolla Meals on Wheels
Our parish outreach for the month of October will be La Jolla Meals on Wheels. Please see how you can get involved.
La Jolla Meals on Wheels serves the La Jolla and northern University City communities by providing adequate nutrition to the temporarily or chronically ill, the disabled, and the aged. Meals are delivered by volunteers (many of whom are All Hallows parishioners), at 11 am Monday through Friday, and consist of a hot meal and a cold meal with a beverage.
A small fee is charged to those able to pay. All meals are picked up at Scripps Memorial Hospital for delivery. Two people (driver and rider) deliver.
La Jolla Meals on Wheels is NOT affiliated with the San Diego Senior Services Meals-On-Wheels Program. We depend entirely on local support. Our companion program, La Jolla Friendly Visitors, fosters independence and well-being by offering a visit each week here in greater La Jolla. A screened volunteer is matched to share communication and friendship. If you know someone in need of meals, call 858 452-0391 or gljmow@att.net or for a visit, call 858 922-2297 or ljfriendlyvisitors@gmail.com
