Awaken your heart and mind! Discover your role in God’s plan for the salvation of all mankind.

St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), developed the Spiritual Exercises to transform people’s lives through a personal experience of God in the ordinariness of their lives.

You’re invited to a weekend Ignatian retreat with Peter W. Gyves, SJ, MD, where your heart and mind will be transformed to an awakening that recognizes your personal salvation is interwoven into the fabric of God’s larger plan for the salvation of all humankind.

You will experience the Ignatian principle of gratitude for the giftedness of your life, the call to a discipleship with Jesus that engages reality, the hardships that such a commitment can evoke, and the joy of knowing the promise of eternal life in the fullness of God’s love. You will also discover that it is God’s love, compassion, and sense of justice that calls you to do your part to make more present the kingdom of God in our world today.

Presented by A Faith that Does Justice, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, this retreat is open to all people of good will regardless of religious affiliation. Cost is $230 for a single room or $200 for a double room (containing two beds). Six meals are included. The retreat will take place at Prince of Peace Abbey (650 Benet Hill Rd., Oceanside, 92058) Jan. 29-31, 2016. Check -in is at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 (the retreat starts after dinner), and the retreat concludes with (optional) Mass at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31. Participants are welcome to stay at the Abbey until 2 p.m. Sunday.
