In the spirit of Gratitude

From the Desk of Catherine Adams, Director of Catechetical Ministry

In the spirit of Gratitude and Thanksgiving, I would like to celebrate the beginning of another successful year of Religious Education for our entire parish.

THANK YOU to parents and their children for their continued commitment to their faith journey here at All Hallows Church. The following is merely a recap of data, I will take the opportunity to highlight one of our groups this week and more in future columns.

  • Parish Faith Formation (Grades 1-8) – 20 students
  • Grade 2 Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation
    + 1st Holy Communion – 19 students
  • High School Teen Confirmation Preparation – 14
    students
  • RCIA – 6 adult students

CLW
Fall ushers in our season of regular catechetical lessons, we welcome children (grades 1-5) to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sundays during the 10am mass from September to May each year. Father dismisses the children following the opening prayer, the children follow their catechist to the veranda (open patio on west end of parish center) for Sunday readings and a brief homily directed specifically to children, then they are escorted back to church for Liturgy of the Eucharist. Typically 15-25 children participate on any given Sunday. Now seems like a great time to introduce our Religious Education Team:

  • Patty Herman, CLW Coordinator + Leader
  • Martha Khoury
  • Casey Krawiec & Sarah Putnam
  • Volunteer CLW Leaders

Please join me in thanking Patty, Martha, Casey & Sarah for their JOYFUL leadership. I am awestruck by the way each of them takes, sometimes very difficult, readings and makes the meaning clear to our youngest parishioners.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 2 Corinthians 9:12
