Monday of the 2nd Week of Lent

“We only forgive if our opponent makes the first move,” says Father Jerry as he describes modern society, “Our public discourse desperately needs a measure of compassionate listening. Our national conversation must be rooted in respect and charity. So today may we remember and pray for those who work in government. Those who manage our city and community services. Those many scientists and lawyers and analysts who protect our common interests and shared resources. And those who provide the everyday services we need to keep our homes and cities functioning.”
