The Feast of Saint Agnes

Today the church celebrates The Feast of Saint Agnes, a beautiful lady killed at a very young age. Although not much is known about Saint Agnes, she was martyred sometime after the year 250. This beautiful young girl died around the age of 12. Although Saint Agnes was killed at a young age she continues to live forever.

That is the truth that all martyrs know: the immediate door of death before them opens to paradise for all eternity. Today as we remember Saint Agnes, we are called to hope. Reminding us that no matter the pain and suffering we have in this life, we have the eternal high priest who opens the door to paradise.
