Today the church celebrates The Feast of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal. Jane was the wife of Baron de Chantal, and mother of six children, two of whom died at birth. As a widow, with Saint Francis de Sales as her spiritual director, she founded in 1610 the Visitation Nuns, and established some 85 monasteries before her death.
In today’s Gospel Jesus entrusts us the power to bind and loose. “When we bind and loose in His name, Heaven stands behind us,” says Father Jerry.
