“In his Christ, God shows us how to rewrite our stories in hope and transformation,” says Father Jerry, “God enters our history in order to help us see the long view — the full picture — that brings us from our self-centered graves to the kingdom of God of justice and peace. God loved His beloved creation enough to become part of that creation. God became like us so that we might become like God.”

He adds that, “In our compassion and forgiveness of one another, God took up the cross of despair, so that we might rise to a new life of hope. May the light of God’s wisdom illuminate our stories, enabling us to imitate the mercy of Christ the healer, the peace of Christ the teacher, and the love of Christ the footwasher.”
