Tuesday of the 5th Week in Lent

There is a Jewish folktale about a man who approached God. “Which do you think is harder, to be man, or to be God,” the man asked God.

“Oh, being God is much, much harder,” God replied, “I have a whole universe to worry about… planets, stars, and galaxies… peoples and nations… all you have to worry about is your family and your job!”

“That’s true,” the man said, “But you have infinite time and infinite power. “The hard part is not doing the job, but doing it within the limits of human strength and the human lifespan.”

God answered, “You don’t know what you’re talking about, it is much harder to be God!”

But the man persisted and eventually asked God to change places for just one second, so he could know what it feels like to be God.

What God does next is totally unexpected, and we’re all still playing out the story. Hear all about it in Father Jerry’s brand new homily above. God bless you and your family.
