Wednesday of the 30th Week in Ordinary Time

“The church is not a religious community of worshipers of Christ, but is Christ Himself, who has taken form among His people,” says Father Jerry in today’s homily. “Think about that for a moment. When we gather at the altar, when the sacrament inspires us to do good, when we empty ourselves of our needs, for the sake of those we love and care for, it is Christ Himself who has taken form in us. When we come together as a faithful prophetic community, made one in the spirit of God, we are more than just a group of generous and well-intentioned folks. We are Christ.”
