Friday of the 10th Week in Ordinary Time

You have heard it said you shall not commit adultery. When I say to you, “Everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

There is no more demeaning feeling than realizing that you have been used by someone. Those nice words were just an act to get you to buy what they were selling. The hard work you did it was taken over by a co-worker or supervisor for their own advancement. The friendship that was only a means to another’s end. “Consider the last time that you felt used by someone. And seek the grace not to ever become such a user yourself,” says Father Jerry.

Open our eyes and hearts, O God, to see you in one another, to recognize your holiness in the dignity of others, as your daughters and sons.
