Today is The Feast of All Souls. Today we pause to remember all those who have gone before us in faith, and who have been gathered into the fullness of God’s reign forever. Today we pause to remember that this world, wonderful as it sometimes, is not our permanent home, and that one day each of us must face death.

Today we pause to remember Christ’s promise, “I am the resurrection and the life. All who believe in me will live forever.” And we remember these things because we are a people of unshakable hope. Let us now ask God for the grace to be ready when he calls us home.
